Leadership

Led the program of Production Engineering for 12 years and established separate Production Engineering Department in 2008. This involved planning, designing and execution of two separate wings for production engineering. The eight state of art laboratories were conceived and commissioned that include Rapid Prototyping and 3D Printing Lab, Advanced Metrology Lab, Advanced CAM Lab, Metrology Lab, Materials Science and Metallurgy Lab, Industrial Engineering Lab, Computational Lab and Advanced Manufacturing Lab. The department under my leadership earned accreditation from National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for five years (2013-18), and academic autonomy by University Grants Commission (2016-21); a unique feat for the college and the Gujarat state being the only program in 110 plus engineering institutes prevailing then. The leadership undertaken for the development of the first in-house product of All Terrain Vehicle (2019-20) was first of its kind in the history of seventy years of the college. This product was developed with Small Scale Innovation Project Fund of 5.65 lacks by Government of Gujarat

To make the program self-reliant 30 more seats were added in 2012. The resource funding of 10 crores was mobilized through the support of the World Bank and Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Government of India, New Delhi for institutional strengthening and enhancing graduate employability through quality education. The resource funding to the tune of 4.67 crore and more was mobilized for B VM Endowment Fund during my tenure as the Secretary, BVM Alumni association (2007-19) by raising the membership from 2020 to 10,955 and celebrating mega celebrations like Diamond Jubilee of the college (2008), Energeia (2010), CVM Platinum Jubilee Celebration (2019) and A M Naik House of Scholars (2020) inauguration.
